About Lori

Helping others succeed has been a life’s work for Lori M. Smith, Senior Professional in Human Resources and President of Capstone Coaching & Consulting, Inc. In her 17 years of providing consulting, coaching, team development and leadership skills training in the corporate setting Lori has developed an expertise in helping others succeed individually and in teams.

Lori has worked for small corporations of 60 employees to companies of more than 29,000 employees. While the dynamics in organizations are different, there is a common thread that exists in all organizations. People have basic needs that if met, provide a solid foundation for achieving great success. While in corporate America, Lori started in a training role and moved on to assume more diverse responsibility in the roles of internal consultant, director and assistant vice president.

One of Lori’s most significant achievements has been developing and implementing a strategy for building a learning culture. In her positions as director and assistant vice president, Lori focused her efforts on providing learning and consulting services. Her efforts assisted one organization in reducing turnover by 32% and increasing revenue per associate by 60% in four years.

On the Personal Side

Lori lives on an acreage outside the Metro Omaha Area with her husband Mike and their three children Hannah, Nick, and Ben. She has always enjoyed working in the organization, but loves retreating to her home in the country.

In their spare time, Lori and Mike can be found cheering on the kids as they play in local soccer, basketball, volleyball, and baseball programs—which means there really is very little spare time.

As a volunteer, Lori enjoys co-leading Hannah's 4-H club, being a room parent for Nick and Ben's classroom parties and coaching sports teams. Lori fills several roles within her local church by serving as the Chairperson of the Administrative Council, teaching Hannah's Sunday School class, and serving on the Finance and Lay Leadership Committees. Lori is active within the general Springfield community by serving as a member of the Springfield Community Foundation.
